Talking point: The report titled “Where Are The Robots” suggests that because businesses are not adequately investing in new technology, too many workers are being consigned to “low-tech, insecure and poorly paid jobs.” The nine indicators that led to the conclusion include slowing business investment in innovation and R&D, and the scarcity of industrial robots in the country, among other trends. Meanwhile, the rapid shift to e-commerce during the pandemic has some distribution and retail companies seeking more help from automated tech.
