The Vancouver-based venture capital firm said it invested in the San Francisco-based virtual reality company because it “is leading the way” in using technology to help foster team-building among remote workforces. Talking point: Founded in 2020, Remio hosts corporate team-building events online. It delivers VR headsets to staff and hosts events including a space-themed escape room and paintball. Remio also offers productivity and collaboration tools, such as presentation rooms. The company has worked with Google, Netflix and Hubspot. Last year, Version One closed US$100 million for two new funds. The firm’s portfolio includes the NFT maker Dapper Labs, as well as recent cleantech investments in Moment Energy, EnPowered and EnergyBank.
