The comments echo remarks that RBC’s CEO made earlier this month that talent competition is “particularly acute” for AI, coding data, engineering and mathematics roles and that hiring will be one of 2022’s biggest challenges. The Alberta government recently rolled out a program to attract skilled foreign workers to help its tech sector fill vacancies amid a tech-talent crunch. B.C., Quebec and Ontario already have similar programs in place.
