The Saskatoon-based white-label e-commerce platform said it has acquired the Toronto-based automated scheduling software provider for an undisclosed sum. (The Logic)

Talking point: The acquisition brings more than 100,000 CalendarHero users to Vendasta. In late May, Vendasta announced it had raised $119.5 million in a new financing round. It had previously filed to go public on the Toronto Stock Exchange, looking to raise about $100 million, but paused those plans after reportedly struggling to sell the IPO. CEO Brendan King told The Logic he believes raising funds privately was a good move as the company wasn’t looking for liquidity, but to execute its growth plan, including making strategic acquisitions. He isn’t ruling out taking the company public in the future, though he doesn’t have a preference between that and another fundraising round. “We would do the right thing for the company.”
