Talking point: Companies have to maintain a certain market capitalization and liquidity to be featured on the composite index. Bombardier was delisted in June 2020, and Calgary-based oil firm Birchcliff Energy, which is also being reintroduced later this month, was removed in September 2019. Since their delistings, Bombardier and Birchcliff’s stocks have steadily ticked up, after the Montreal-headquartered company narrowed its focus on business jets and the oil sector rebounded from early pandemic lows. Well Health’s inclusion comes as the Vancouver-based health-care firm snaps up assets in the digital health space through acquisitions and investments. And Telus International, which spun out from Telus, joins the index after a blockbuster TSX debut in February.
