Talking point: In October 2019, FreshBooks announced plans to open an Amsterdam office and hire 75 staff. It’s since launched in the U.K, Ireland, opened its first U.S. office and set up a Croatia-based development hub for Europe. This rapid expansion follows the “most significant” investment in its history, which came from JPMorganChase at an undisclosed sum in August 2019. The firm is fighting for market share with companies like Toronto-based Wave, which has also expanded its international presence.
