The Vancouver-based venture capital firm’s Innovation Growth Fund II is 50 per cent larger than its predecessor and brings Yaletown’s total assets under management to over $450 million. (The Logic)
Talking point: The firm announced in August 2021 that it had raised $130 million for the fund before closing with an additional $70 million more than a year later, in November, 2022. The firm said it raised capital from new and existing investors—including pension funds, asset managers and family offices. Public Sector Pension Investment Board led the round, with participation from BMO Financial and InBC. Investors in previous Yaletown funds include BDC Capital, Kensington Capital Partners and Alberta Enterprise Corporation. Also on Thursday, Vancouver-based Zenhub announced that Yaletown had led a $10-million investment in the project-management platform.
