Talking point: The company told The Logic it also “had departures aligned with specific team and company needs,” including leadership changes, in September. Hootsuite has conducted multiple rounds of mass layoffs in recent years. In January 2023, it let go 70 staff after appointing Irina Novoselsky as CEO. In November 2022, it laid off 5 per cent of its workforce, following a 30 per cent reduction that August. In a video posted on LinkedIn, Novoselsky called it “the right thing” for Hootsuite’s ability to move faster and grow.
