The U.S. and several state governments allege the Texas-based firm’s market intelligence software damages competition in rental housing by recommending prices based on confidential information its users feed into it—enabling cartel-like behaviour without a cartel. The company will fight the accusations, RealPage spokesperson Jennifer Bowcock told The Logic. “RealPage’s revenue management software is purposely built to be legally compliant, and we have a long history of working constructively with the DOJ to show that.” (The Logic)
