Talking point: On November 26, Business Insider reported Eccleston had been accused of sexual harassment in filings for a New York Division of Human Rights complaint over two decades ago. At the time, TMX made no comment on the specific allegations, but said it took them seriously and was looking into them. In an internal email shared with The Globe and Mail, TMX chairman Charles Winograd told eight executives that Rubin had been retained to look into “events from approximately 25-30 years ago.” Winograd wrote the board was “not aware” of any misconduct allegations during Eccleston’s time at TMX. The information has not been shared widely with employees, sparking concerns that Rubin may be inaccessible to them if they have complaints about Eccleston. Rubin has previously led an independent investigation of the CBC’s workplace culture after the dismissal of radio host Jian Ghomeshi due to allegations of sexual assault.
