Talking point: “I felt like it was more clarity than we’ve had in a while,” said Catherine Fortin LeFaivre, senior vice-president of international policy at the chamber, who was buoyed by Greer’s hint that the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement will survive a review despite little hope of renewal by July 1. About 30 delegates from sectors ranging from oil and gas to biotech are joining the trip to hear from the Canadian Embassy, experts and the U.S. business community. “I think people are grasping at any kind of information that can inform their future business decisions,” she said. “Unfortunately, I don’t think anybody has those answers, but I do think that the private sector wants to be as useful as possible to the Canadian government.”
