The firm will charge merchants who use its enterprise plan US$2,500 a month, up from US$2,000, according to an email obtained by The Globe and Mail. Talking point: Shopify’s Plus price hikes come a year after it raised the cost of its basic and advanced plans. In both instances, the firm cited new services it offers merchants and that it had been years since fees were increased. Citi analysts tracking Shopify’s stock predicted “limited push-back [or] churn” from the Plus move, projecting it could add up to six per cent to the firm’s subscription solutions revenue, which was $1.3 billion in the first nine months of 2023 or 26.7 per cent of the total. Shopify’s stock rose as much as 3.79 per cent on Friday, amid a broader tech rally. The Ottawa-headquartered commerce company reports fourth-quarter earnings Tuesday.
