The Ottawa-headquartered commerce firm has made a strategic investment in the San Francisco-based startup. Crossing Minds CEO Alexandre Robicquet declined to disclose the terms of the deal, but said the new funding is “substantial.” (The Logic)
Talking point: Brands use the firm’s technology to show shoppers products based on how they click around the site. Crossing Minds touts its recommendation system as more privacy-focused than traditional cookie- and tracking-based systems. Shopify currently has its own tool, which picks what to display based on purchase history and similarities in stock. Crossing Minds launched its integration with the commerce platform last month, and it is working “on an additional project” about which Robicquet declined to disclose details. In October 2021, Toronto-based Radical Ventures led a US$10-million Series A for the startup, four of whose 19 staff are based in the city.
