Talking point: The U.K. became the first country to approve the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine earlier Wednesday, and about 800,000 doses are due to arrive in the coming days. Still, U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned against getting “carried away with over-optimism or falling into the naive belief that our struggle is over,” while the EU criticized the move as “hasty.” The U.K.’s speediness could further cloud U.S. President Donald Trump’s relationship with the Food and Drug Administration, which he has pressured to quicken its pace on vaccine approvals.
