Nova Scotia’s Maritime Launch Services, which has been touting the Cyclone-4M manufactured by Ukraine’s Yuzhmash as the vehicle for regular launches starting in 2024, does not have any rockets safely in its possession, a spokesperson said. (The Logic)
Talking point: Three people were killed and 15 injured in the Russian strike on the Yuzhmash factory in Dnipro, which builds rockets and components for missiles and spacecraft. In a video briefing, the Russian military said its strike targeted production of Ukrainian missile parts. “It is premature for Maritime Launch to comment, or make decisions, regarding the business impact of this tragic event,” MLS’s Sarah McLean told The Logic by email, saying it’s focusing on the victims. In May, MLS said its very first launch in 2023 will use an unproven rocket from Quebec instead of the Ukrainian Cyclone-4M.
