Talking point: Ryan Reynolds owns more than 25 per cent of Mint, according to TechCrunch. The hack was an example of SIM hijacking, in which criminals will use a customer’s personal information to remotely access their phone account. Such scams netted US$68 million last year, the FBI said in February. Reynolds has been pushing for Canadian regulators to make changes that would allow the company to enter the market here, taking out billboard ads last year raising awareness about the issue.
