Canadian venture capitalist and Inovia partner Patrick Pichette was among the slate of directors who departed the social media company’s board last Thursday as new Twitter owner Elon Musk became the sole member, according to a Monday SEC filing. (The Logic)
Talking point: As Musk takes the company private, a new governance structure is among several sweeping changes for Twitter, which is reportedly working around the clock on plans to charge US$20 per month for verification, bracing for layoffs, as well as dealing with fallout from auto advertisers and trolls pushing racial slurs. Pichette, who was Twitter’s board chair from June 2020 to November 2021 and headed the audit committee, was lauded for bringing “Canadian values and approaches” during his leadership, senior employees told my colleague Martin in 2020. Pichette did not immediately respond to The Logic’s request for comment. Other Twitter board members who have left include chair Bret Taylor, former CEO Parag Agrawal, Omid Kordestani, David Rosenblatt and Martha Lane Fox. – Anita
