Talking point: According to NORAD, Santa’s usual route starts over the Pacific Ocean and takes him west around the world. The organization uses its 47 Arctic radar installations to track his movements through the sky, though they can’t give a specific time for when he will arrive at your house. While NORAD has tracked Santa since the 1950s, in recent years they’ve had a Big Tech competitor: Google now has its own Santa Tracker. However, the two trackers seem to differ in their read on Santa’s whereabouts and gifts delivered. It goes to show how difficult it is to track a magical being who can move faster than starlight itself. – Madeleine, age 9, The Logic’s kids correspondent
