Talking point: The deal with FTX underscores Nuvei’s growing focus on new business areas, like crypto and online gambling. “Our partnership with FTX demonstrates Nuvei’s leadership in the growing cryptocurrency vertical and shows our ability to provide innovative solutions for customers of all types around the world,” Nuvei CEO Philip Fayer said in a statement. The company also announced it’s launching crypto-friendly debit cards with Visa earlier this week. To accelerate the push into new growth areas, the company is planning to ramp up its marketing efforts, Fayer told The Logic in a November interview. Meanwhile, Nuvei’s stock has been under pressure recently, following a Dec. 8 short seller report that raised doubts about the company’s transparency.
