Talking point: GridBank’s model is built on attracting users who aren’t already creators, which it claims can help everyone earn money from their data. The company said the money will help it roll out new features faster, including opening up its marketplace to more customers and companies outside of marketing looking to buy video content. GridBank is also planning on launching a content challenge in Montreal this summer. Version One said it was initially skeptical of GridBank, but later realized the company has the potential to become “the transactional layer that enables” selling any type of real-world data.
