Talking point: Mogo has made a number of strategic investments in the last year, most notably in Toronto-based crypto exchange Coinsquare, in which it has taken an increasingly larger stake since the start of 2021. The vast majority of the portfolio currently consists of its stake in Coinsquare, worth $103.8 million as of Dec. 31, 2021. Its investments in other companies are worth $18.1 million, and it has $1.7 million in cryptocurrencies. Mogo president and CFO Greg Feller and an investment committee chaired by former “Dragons’ Den” investor Michael Wekerle, who also serves on Mogo’s board of directors, will be in charge of overseeing the new entity.
