The Montreal-headquartered company announced Tuesday that Brightspark Ventures led the round, with participation from Diagram, The51 and unnamed angel investors. Coral’s virtual platform gives health assessments and creates care plans for women in perimenopause and menopause. (The Logic)
Talking point: Coral’s co-founder and chairwoman Anna Chif previously started telemedicine company Dialogue, which went public in 2021 and was later acquired by Sun Life Financial. She founded Coral alongside Fiona Lake Waslander and John McCalla to set a “new standard for menopause care in Canada,” a release said. Ninety-five per cent of women face symptoms in menopause, according to the Menopause Foundation of Canada, while one in 10 leave their jobs because the symptoms are unmanageable, says a report from Fawcett Society. “Women’s digital health has long been underserved,” said Brightspark Ventures partner Sophie Forest in a statement.
