Nikhanj, who co-founded energy analytics firm RS Energy Group, was named CEO of Enverus, the Austin, Texas-based company that acquired RS in 2020. The Calgary company was reportedly valued at around US$1 billion at the time of the transaction. (The Logic)
Talking point: The unconventional move will have Nikhanj running Enverus out of Calgary, starting in July. Enverus has developed software that uses data and generative artificial intelligence to streamline operations at wind farms, oil leases and a wide range of other energy-related infrastructure. As the head of the company, Nikhanj will oversee a global staff of 1,700, of whom almost 300 are in Calgary. In an interview with the Calgary Herald, Nikhanj said he expects Enverus’s revenues to reach $1 billion in coming years as demand for energy software grows.
