The lack of skilled workers is a burden on the provincial tech sector in particular, which has grown rapidly in recent years. Kenney said Albertans enjoy the highest after-tax incomes in the country, while homes in Vancouver are three times more expensive than in Calgary and four times that of Edmonton. “You can afford a house and be home in time [from] work to spend time with your family,” he said.
