Talking point: The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan invested in the mobile-first company in 2022 and participated in a €173-million Series F round announced in September that valued the eight-year-old company at €4 billion. More than just processing claims, insurance companies are increasingly offering things like online pharmacies and virtual appointments for plan members (sometimes in ways not everybody likes), usually through partner companies. Alan plans to do the same, but to run those services itself.
