The body, made up of members “from a variety of cultural and professional backgrounds,” said the company must restore several posts it had removed for violating its community standards on hate speech, violence and incitement, and other aspects. (The Logic)
Talking point: The board, which announced its first cases last December, ruled in four out of five cases to overturn Facebook’s decisions. Its decisions are binding. “Facebook will implement these binding decisions … and have already restored the content in three of the cases,” a company spokesperson said in a statement to The Logic. The board is currently reviewing Facebook’s suspension of former U.S. president Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.
