The Quebec City-based company, which makes electric-vehicle chargers, said the Series E equity financing was led by Export Development Canada. The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, Investissement Québec, Business Development Bank of Canada, New York-based Energy Impact Partners and the Montreal-based investment firm MacKinnon, Bennett and Company also participated. Talking point: The funding round comes despite how some automakers are delaying their EV-making plans as sales grow slower than expected. Flo recently launched its next generation of home chargers, and will begin deliveries this month on a new ultra charger that it says can charge many EVs to 80 per cent in 15 minutes. Flo said the money will help it roll out the new products and expand its charging network. Cassie Bowe, a partner at Energy Impact Partners, said Flo’s business is “particularly exciting in the U.S. where we need more reliable EV chargers.”
