Talking point: Flash Forest uses drones to drop seedlings into areas that would be difficult for human tree planters to reach. It said it will use the money to grow its wildfire reforestation efforts in North America. The company also announced a multi-year commercial agreement with Telus’s sustainability and environment team which will see the telco offer Flash Forest’s tech to help its customers achieve their environmental goals. Telus launched its $100-million social impact fund in November 2020, and has since invested in companies including California plant-based milk maker Goodmylk and Montreal’s beehive tracker Nectar.
