Talking point: At least 67,000 Shopify businesses have been affected by the strike, company CEO Tobi Lütke wrote in an X post days after it began, while the Canadian Federation of Independent warned three-quarters of small businesses will be negatively impacted by the strike. Federal mediation was temporarily suspended and MacKinnon summoned both parties on Wednesday as they remain far apart on critical issues including the use of part-time and temporary employees.
