Existing investors Regina-based Conexus Venture Capital, Darien, Conn.-headquartered Ten Coves Capital and Toronto-based Relay Ventures (also an investor in The Logic) participated in the round. 7shifts makes tools for employee scheduling, communication and management for food-services locations. Talking point: In January, CEO Jordan Boesch told The Logic he was looking for a backer who “believes in the long term of restaurants” to lead the Series B. The buzzy, upscale New York eateries of Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) have recently adopted 7shifts’ platform, and its investment arm Enlightened Hospitality Group led the deal. The Canadian tech firm currently has more than 150 employees, and will use the funding for hiring and product development. 7shifts intends to expand beyond scheduling and communication, Boesch said earlier his year, with plans to add recruitment, training and financial tools.
