Talking point: Cogeco’s cable and internet operations overcame weak results in its media business. “Given that we were still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic throughout the summer, we are very pleased with our operational and financial performance for the fourth quarter,” said Cogeco CEO Philippe Jetté. Cogeco made no mention in its earnings release of Rogers and Altice’s $11.1-billion takeover offer, which it has rejected twice. The company did, however, tout its $405-million planned acquisition of Derytelecom, and highlight that sales in its media business are improving.
