Talking point: Federal Agriculture Minister Heath MacDonald met with Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe on Thursday to discuss how to address the trade issue. The minister last month also agreed to ramp up compensation for farmers. Smith said Ottawa was ultimately responsible for China’s canola tariff, after the federal government placed a 100 per cent anti-dumping duty on Chinese-made EVs last year.
