Talking point: The survey polled 182 Canadian companies—91 issuers and 91 investors—in September. The issuers varied in size and came from 16 industries including banking, real estate, telecommunications and consumer goods. The survey found all but two per cent of issuers were factoring sustainability into their activities. It also found that 38 per cent were moving toward sustainability, 45 per cent were laying out sustainability targets and 13 per cent were implementing plans to reach full sustainability. However, only 10 per cent of investors, meanwhile, said they already took sustainability issues into consideration when it came to investment decisions.
