Practice, founded by Julien Smith of Breather, announced a seed round led by Andrew Chen, a partner at Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from other individual investors, including self-help guru Tony Robbins and Tiny Capital co-founder Andrew Wilkinson. (Tiny is also an investor in The Logic.) (The Logic)
Talking point: Practice is developing a platform for coaches, consultants and therapists to reach clients and manage their businesses. The company, whose product is still in beta, also says it hopes to eventually provide medical professionals a way to offer services through the platform, as a boom in telehealth fuels investor interest in the sector. Practice is Smith’s latest venture after Breather, of which he was CEO and later chair. The Montreal flexible-workspace provider’s valuation plummeted before being sold for just US$3 million to U.S. investors. According to his LinkedIn profile, Smith has been working on Practice since 2019; the company is now hiring for roles based remotely or in Montreal.
