Canadian firms hoping to cash in on the public markets have had mixed results. VerticalScope, a Toronto-based digital-media company, debuted on the TSX earlier this week after upsizing its offering 25 per cent to $125 million. Saskatoon-based Vendasta, meanwhile, halted its go-public plans after reportedly struggling to garner enough interest and opted for a private fundraising round instead. Other firms trying their luck in the public markets include Q4, which aims to raise $150 million, and LifeSpeak, which is targeting $125 million.
