Talking point: The cleantech startup uses AI and quantum chemistry to develop materials that can purify water through sunlight or LED light. It has developed eight new photocatalysts—materials that react to light and can break down pesticides, bacteria, viruses and pollutants in water. Their products can be used to filter drinking water or break down pollutants in bodies of water like rivers. The funding will help Xatoms expand its pilot programs and its technical and manufacturing teams, co-founder and CEO Diana Virgovicova wrote on LinkedIn.
