The Richmond, B.C., last-mile delivery company said it expects to raise three more tranches for the round this year, but declined to disclose the target beyond saying it will be “substantial.” It plans to use the funds to expand to Los Angeles, New York and other major U.S. cities. (TechCrunch)

It has helped the popular Chinese fast-fashion company reduce delivery times from 10 to 14 days to four to five. CEO Peter Lu said he is aiming for UniUni to reach unicorn status by 2025. The company pivoted from just restaurant deliveries to last-mile e-commerce deliveries during the early days of the pandemic. It has more than 6,000 gig drivers in Canada and in the U.S., where it just started making deliveries, a few hundred. The company had previously raised $15 million across three rounds, according to PitchBook.
