Talking point: Tiny acquired a majority stake in Letterboxd in 2023, purchasing 60 per cent of the company and valuing it at US$50 million at the time. Letterboxd’s founders did not respond to Semafor’s request for comment and Wilkinson declined to comment. Tiny and The Ankler first connected about a possible purchase last year, but couldn’t agree on sales terms and entered a partnership instead. Letterboxd was founded in 2011 and had caught Tiny’s attention as it grew to more than 10 million members.
