Last year, Amazon reportedly started planning several large department stores. It already operates multiple kinds of physical locations, including tech-heavy convenience stores Amazon Go, two grocery chains, a bookstore, the 4-Star chain featuring its most popular products, and pop-up locations. The retailer turned to physical locations to boost its private-label sales, get more customer data and make shopping more convenient.
