Talking point: Montgomery was forced out as CEO after the company’s largest shareholder, Greywood Investments, launched a campaign in 2022 to oust him and a majority of Enthusiast’s board over what it claimed were “significant issues” with the firm’s culture and management. The company reported a $78.3-million loss for the first nine months of 2023. It also delisted from the Nasdaq in November after falling below the index’s minimum bid price requirement. Its shares, which still trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange, declined 13.3 per cent Monday. While Enthusiast director Michael Beckerman praised Montgomery’s leadership in a statement, the company said it plans to find a new long-term CEO.
