The e-commerce giant announced it’s adding US$2.75 billion to its backing of the San Francisco AI startup. Amazon invested US$1.25 billion in Anthropic last September, saying at the time that it had the option to invest up to US$4 billion. (The Logic)
Talking point: Amazon’s additional investment underscores the massive resources that tech giants are committing to the hot AI race. The total investment marks Amazon’s largest venture deal to date.
