Talking point: Novo Nordisk is behind Ozempic and Wegovy, two injectable weight-loss drugs that have seen the company scramble to keep up with demand. It raised its full-year profit and sales forecasts for the second time on the back of U.S. demand for Wegovy. Inversago, which employs 22 people, will continue to focus on its drug trials. The company had raised more than US$110 million, according to PitchBook, from backers including Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Genesys Capital and adMare BioInnovations. Inversago is the latest life-sciences firm with operations in Canada to announce they’re being acquired. Other large deals this year include Bellus Health and Chinook Therapeutics.
