Talking point: An agreement was reached in December but has yet to close, Bloomberg reported. New York-based private equity firm Warburg Pincus previously took a majority stake in the company in 2017. ESentire, which was founded in 2001, helps companies detect and respond to cybersecurity threats. The investment comes amid greater investor interest in cybersecurity firms as more services shift online, a trend that has benefited some Canadian companies including 1Password, which raised US$620 million last month at a US$6.8-billion valuation. Meanwhile, the Caisse also backed Hy2gen as part of a €200 million round that the German company is calling the world’s largest private investment in green hydrogen.
