Talking point: Dapper has been looking to build a better blockchain to handle huge volumes as the popularity of NFTs has risen, and the company has signed deals with major brands including Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, and UFC. Dapper developed Flow from scratch with a goal of becoming the blockchain of choice for mainstream consumer brands as well as independent artists. While Flow is affordable and user-friendly, some say those qualities come at the cost of its decentralization—which could affect its long-term success. Dapper CEO Roham Gharegozlou told Forbes that Google Cloud will act as a network operator, allowing more than 2,000 developers the ability to connect to Flow at a lower latency through the tech giant’s cloud services.
