We’re delighted to announce that Lu Xu is joining The Logic as part of our new program for BIPOC journalists.
Lu is a Halifax-based journalist with a keen interest in the Canadian economy. She has a master’s degree in data journalism from the University of King’s College. Originally from Jinan, a small city in China, she also worked as a young professional in Melbourne, Australia.
Lu most recently worked at The Chronicle Herald, where she wrote about immigration and small businesses. Her work has also been published in The Walrus, AllNovaScotia, Polestar Student Immigration News and The Coast.
She is the host of “Here From Away,” a podcast from Halifax campus radio station CKDU.ca that showcases the stories of people who came (or returned) to Nova Scotia—and whether they’ll stay.
At The Logic, Lu will receive mentorship from our team of seasoned reporters and editors. She will hone her business reporting skills, contribute to our award-winning daily newsletter and help our newsroom cover the Canadian innovation economy. She will continue to be based in Halifax, and her first day will be Sept. 13.
Please join us in welcoming Lu to the team.
