Talking point: The number of retail investors using apps like Robinhood has increased significantly during the pandemic. TD has already seen a jump in mobile trading: three years ago, mobile-only users accounted for less than five per cent of trades at TD; that number is now up to 35 per cent. In addition to trading, TD’s app comes with educational features, like nearly 100 information videos about investing and an alert function for if an investment goes outside a person’s risk-tolerance threshold.
