Uber will let some riders have their trips recorded for safety

The feature will be piloted next month in some cities in Brazil and Mexico. Users will be warned that trips are subject to audio recording—drivers can have all rides be automatically recorded, while riders must activate the feature through the in-app safety kit. Neither will be able to listen to the recording. The company is eventually planning to test the feature in the U.S., according to documents viewed by the Washington Post, but the timeline is still unspecified. (Washington Post)
