Talking point: This is Thomson Reuters’s first investment from its US$100-million venture fund. It launched the arm in October to invest in Series A- and B-stage companies focused on legal, tax and accounting, media, compliance and reducing risk and fraud. Ledgible’s platform aims to make it easier for individuals and businesses to handle crypto-related accounting and track their tax bills, a growing market as ownership of the assets become more widespread. Recently, KPMG in Canada said it was adding Bitcoin and Ether to its corporate treasury as the accounting firm builds out its crypto practice.
