Talking point: Ontario Judge Calum MacLeod said in a Monday court hearing that two convoy-related legal proceedings—a proposed class-action lawsuit on behalf of Ottawa residents and one concerning the province’s criminal restraint order against the truckers—have been brought together, given the overlap between them. Protestors who received cryptocurrency donations worth hundreds of thousands of dollars had previously agreed to put that money in escrow in case it is needed to settle the proposed class action. Stripe, headquartered in San Francisco and Dublin, has testified before Parliament about its handling of the protest donations.
