Management Consulted, a group that coaches students on how to get hired at consulting firms, told the Financial Times that job offers from firms like McKinsey and Boston Consulting Group are the same as last year. It’s left some in the consulting industry wondering whether the traditional career path—starting as a junior analyst and moving up—will still exist as firms rely more on senior staff and automate low- and mid-level tasks. Accenture started referring to its employees as “reinventors” this year, cutting its workforce and bringing in more AI-savvy workers.
